About the Area
The Three Valleys is one of the best areas for skiing in Europe, and Meribel is a perfect base to explore all that is on offer in the area. The chalet itself is in a fantastic location, and weather permitting, you can even ski back to the chalet after a day in the mountains!
Obviously, there is a vast amount to interest skiers of all abilities, with over 600km of marked piste to try out.
With 74 runs to suit all abilities in Meribel alone, and 283 runs in the Three Valleys area, there is plenty to keep everyone occupied throughout your stay.
Val Thornes is the highest ski resort in Europe and the glaciers experience year round snow.
For beginners, Altiport is perfect, with gentle, tree-lined slopes.
Higher up on the Saulire, there are more red and blue runs for mixed ability groups and the west side of the valley has a number of black runs for experts, a good number of blues and reds as well as 2 snow parks- great whether you’re snow boarding or skiing.
So you can get the most of your stay, the owners even offer a free accompanied ski service and will be more than happy to ski with you and show you around the area.
A stay here isn’t just perfect for skiers though. The area has so much more to offer, with an Olympic ice rink, bowling alley, indoor swimming pool and an excellent fitness centre.
For guests who want to take a break from the slopes and indulge in some retail therapy, there are 35 shops, not including ski hire shops, where you can spend your days and your money!
For thrill seekers, there are sledge runs, ice climbing, dog sledding, rock and ice climbing and hot air balloon rides, where you can see the stunning landscape in all its glory.
If you find you’ve still some energy at the end of the day, the nightlife in Meribel is excellent, with more than 30 bars and 3 nightclubs. Dance the night away to live music or simply relax and unwind with a drink. Some of the bars open as early as 4pm and close as late as 4am, so you’ll have plenty of time to visit them.
